Washing, Dressing - Without Touching!
This is Evelyn, a mom whose autistic son now does all his self care on his own. It wasn't always like this.
I was tired, even when I woke up. Just thinking about washing ans dressing a growing child who wouldn't respond, wouldn't follow directions, and wouldn't even recognize that I was talking to him. Worse yet, the support service providers who came to my house could not help, because they were not allowed to touch my child.
Out of necessity, I came up with a step-by-step plan that made it possible for Isaiah to do everything he needed to do by himself. He added one success onto another. Your child can do it too!
